Is it or is it not important to have a tertiary qualification?

Posted by Elex Moatshe on

These days you can’t do much without a tertiary qualification or higher education. People seem to not take you seriously when you don’t have any qualification of some sort under your belt. So is it or is it not important to get a qualification?

Tertiary education is something you acquire by going a certain time studying and learning a specific field in higher education institutions e.g. your varsities. Having a higher education qualification has been proven to open better doors of opportunity, such as getting better jobs than those people who do not have qualifications.

Having a qualification helps improve the quality of life that a person can have, because a qualification comes with getting better financial earnings, one has better has access to better quality things e.g. better health care and quality products. People with qualifications have less stress than people who have nothing. People with qualifications are more self-confident and smarter. They are able to make better informed decisions.

A qualification is an expansion of skills and knowledge, which equips a person in their field of expertise and in their personal life. They know how to speak their mind and express themselves in a way that is respected, heard and considered.

When you have a qualification people respect you and value your opinion in society. A qualification gives a sense of direction in life of what you want to do.

So if you can live a life without the perks of having a qualification then you should reconsider your decision in life.

It has its benefits but it is not easily attainable as it sounds. It requires hard work, dedication and perseverance because certain things are earned and not given. Good happens to those who work for them.
