This subject covers the development of the child and focuses mainly on the first few years of a child’s life when the maximum benefit will be gained from adequate and appropriate stimulation.  The book covers aspects of growth and development beginning in the womb.  Other aspects dealt with in the book are how learning occurs in the early years as well as inclusion and diversity.  The approach to the book has been to include as many practical tasks as possible to allow the NCV student to gain experience in the development of stimulating activities for children from birth to 6 years of age.
