The Oxford South African Thematic Atlas for grades 10-12 is a treasury of carefully selected maps and comprehensive reference material. Designed to meet the CAPS requirements for Geography in the FET Phase, the atlas also supports Tourism classes with maps and photographs of many tourist sites around the world.

Features

• The Geoskills section builds on the foundation of Senior Phase geographical skills and techniques by explaining more complex and practical map use activities, including fieldwork. GIS concepts and applications are covered in a series of features and illustrations throughout the book.
• The Geothemes section explores the physical geography themes prescribed for FET such as atmosphere, climate and weather, oceans and water and geomorphology. Human geography themes include population, settlement, development, resources and sustainability.
• Case studies are included in all the sections of the book, including the reference map sections for South Africa (with expanded coverage of each province) and the continents. Maps, graphs, tables, synoptic charts, aerial photos and satellite images bring each case study to life and provide learners with specific insight into conditions in different places, as required by CAPS.
