This level moves away from the mechanics of decoding words, to reading for knowledge and enjoyment. The books revise previously learned phonics but also introduce the reader to many other writing genres. In the Yellow level you will find the following changes. • The books have 30 pages • They include a ten-page fiction story that revises phonics. • They include ten pages of either poetry, rhymes, myths and legends, traditional stories, journaling, or role play. • The last nine pages in each book are non-fiction.
